In this research project we analyze the coordination mechanisms between the health and social systems for the long-term care of older-age population, both in Spain and in other European countries (EU-15), in a context of structural crisis of the model and with serious consequences on public health. The study aims to identify good practices and successful experiences in preventing the spread of the disease, refining the mechanisms of articulation between health and social policy, thus contributing to improving the effectiveness with which integrated decisions are taken (a key aspect in the fight against pandemics), drawing conclusions potentially applicable to other areas of public policy involved in the response to crisis situations.
